Mow-l Back Plan

As promised in the mission request, Mr N had a lawnmower ✅ and an overgrown back garden ✅. Not the best of combinations. Someone had been here before too and had cut the grass closest to the house. The grass there looked dead and Sevan couldn't work out why yet.

Sevan decided to do what he could to improve Mr N's garden. He tried pushing the mower and the small wheels got stuck. Pulling too didn't achieve much. Even after raising the cutting height, it was slow going.

It was time to go back to the start and find another way to tackle the problem. Pulling the mower backwards was the best approach, then picking it up, placing it on the far side of the garden and again, pulling backwards over an adjacent patch of weeds. At the sides of the garden, there were mostly weeds.

The mower became blocked often, which was surprising as it didn't collect much grass. It appeared designed to leave all of the cuttings in the garden, not in the built in grass box. Sevan then realised why he found so much dead looking grass at the start of the task. They were the cuttings from last time 🤦‍♂️

Under the grass, there were a few discoveries hiding. A plastic plant pot, a hand trowel and a spade (full sized) with a broken handle. The spade was surprising. It turned out that a lot of the long grass was matted down and in places, very deep, so who knows what else may be found down there by future GoodGym explorers.

The lawnmower did a valiant job of chopping anything coming within reach of its blades. The only plants that survived contact with the chopping blade were the brambles of course. They'll need some special care next time around.
