4 Goodgymers had a (very short) run from St Nick's Park in Warwick to the nearby St John's House to help the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Museum with their upcoming relocation.
With the museum being part way through packing up their entire contents ready for their move at the end of this month, it was quite exciting to get a chance to go behind the scenes. As Vic suggested, it felt a bit like being in Night at the Museum!
Our first task was to carry some old display boards down the stairs and put them in the skip. With this done and dusted we moved onto some of the boxes of archives that have been packed up ready to go to the records office. There were also some piles of books, some boxes of medals and some other boxes labeled "fragile" which thankfully we managed to get safely down the staircase without any major disasters. With all the transporting of boxes we each climbed up and down a total of 190 steps on the beautiful old staircase in St John's House.
With all the items safely down the stairs ready for collection tomorrow, we said our goodbyes and still had time to go for a jog around St Nick's park. It was such a beautiful evening for a run and gave us a chance to have a nose at all the set-up for "Pub in the Park" due to take place this weekend.
