Moving a bed
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.
- Wednesday, 3rd of June 2020
The district nurse had not arrived when Darryl and I got there so we had a little chat with Mrs. E while we were waiting for her. We explained why we were there but she was a little confused and couldn't hear very much. We had a little small talk instead before the nurse arrived. She told me she was nearly 97! A lady from the foot clinic arrived (fully kitted up with PPE) shortly after and she helped us explain what was happening. The nurse arrived a couple of minutes later so it was a little crowded in the small flat. The nurse explained what we needed to do and that the hospital bed would arrive an hour later at 1pm. The bed was very easy to take apart and move and we managed to maintain social distancing. Once that was done we said goodbye to Mrs. E (who was still a little confused) and made sure that the nurse would remain with her until the bed arrived.
Hopefully when the deliver the bed they will make it up as beautifully as it was when we found it! Including her little heart decoration which we'd removed from the old bed.
