Following on from October's greening event on Percy Road, I have continued to distribute plants, planters and seeds to residents in the PO4 area. Last week, a new couple in the area (recent transPLANTS from Paris, so to speak) were welcomed to the street and gifted with 3 pots of French lavender in one of our painted recycled timber planters from the fall.
I also re-planted a neighbour's flowerbox with a rainbow of mini geraniums (bargain from the B&Q sale rack!) to bring a little more spring cheer to the street.
One of the largest planters we built and painted in October has finally found a home and went to a very grateful resident who said "I don't have a garden at home, so this planter IS my garden."
All sorts of new wildlife is cropping up out back - butterflies, bees, and even baby pigeons so I hope we're doing something right!
The mission to remove wheelie bins continues: a bin stickering campaign was a small start against offenders!
Packets of forget-me-not and poppy seeds are next in line to pretty up the pavements, and mural painting starts tomorrow...watch this space.
