Merry Christmas Everyone! (except for the fly tippers)
5 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Brighton.

It's pretty hard to have any Christmas good cheer for anybody that has fly tipped on the corner of Tenantry Down. What could be a lovely little copse is being turned into a mini land fill site. This was our third visit, and having made really great progress on the previous two we were hoping to finish the job. However loads more rubbish had arrived, including old kitchen cupboards, guttering, vacuum cleaners and so much more. The actual dump is literally round the corner which makes it even more senseless.
But after an hours hard work from five Goodgymmers plus Garry from the Tidy up Team, to the naked eye at least things looked considerably better. All that was left was to load up the tipper truck for Garrry to drive to a pretty country lane and ....only kidding (at least I hope he was!!).
All the litter picking got me remembering a song we used to sing in primary school assembly, all about the virtues of a tidy neighbourhood. Any one else remember it?
Milk bottle tops and paper bags, Iron bedsteads, dirty old rags, Litter on the pavement, Paper in the park Is this what we Really want to see? No! No! No!
So it's time for us to have our Christmas and New Year break on what has been a strange year, to say the least. But I'm very proud of how we have stuck together and supported each other and continued our activity to make the world a little bit better whilst making ourselves a little bit fitter!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
