Six runners at tonights group run did a brisk 5k before heading of to the Cathedral for Mencap Christmas Carol service. The route took us up and down the Avenues from 1st to 6th and then down Bunny Walk back to the Uni. Russell and Simon sped off and we didn't see them until we got back. Julie, Jenny and Rosie had a relaxed run in the increasingly dropping temperature. We headed off to the Cathedral and it was jam packed and no spare seats, so in the Goodgym usual practice, we made it happen by finding our own seats. Settling at the back of the audience we were looking forward to the concert with the Waltham Singers leading the way. They are one of Essex's mixed-voice adult choirs founded in 1973 so we knew we were in for a quality concert.
It did not disappoint and with the Mencap members participation with singing and readings it was a fantasic event and were were glad we could support them at this special event.
Great to hear that Rosie has done her first coach run this week.
Bag packing at M&S is available this Sunday 10:30 to 12:30am, sign up if you are coming along.
Happy running
