Meat-Free lemon essence
1 GoodGymer made their way to help the Birmingham Central Foodbank in Birmingham.
- Friday, 11th of December 2020
- Led by John Hayes
I went along to the final hour of the distribution session as I was busy in the morning. I met with Leon and helped to pack some vegetarian food parcels for the clients coming in to collect their Christmas parcels. I also lifted some heavy boxes to help restock the back room so it was easier for the other volunteers to continue packing the parcels. The Central Foodbank were collaborating with the Ladywood Community Project to give out food parcels for local families, at the Project they were giving out food and fuel vouchers, as well as a Christmas gift. The foodbank also managed to get hold of some Christmas stories to give out as another bonus. I took the chance to take a photo of the sorting room, which is full to the brim with donated food. We have community missions coming up on Monday and the following week, so you can help with this vital task by signing up.
