Meals on Wheels...
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Friday, 29th of May 2020
It was only when the mission confirmation came through that I realised this was the same Ms M who I'd shopped for just last week - this time her (now somewhat familiar) list was provided in the confirmation email, and it also mentioned that this week Ms M had only just come out of hospital and was having to use a walking frame to move around her home.
After finishing mission 1 earlier, I enjoyed an explore of the neighbourhood in the afternoon sunshine before embarking on a second trip around the aisles at Waitrose, where the challenges this time proved only to be hunting down the correct brand of Kefir in the right size bottle, and which of the wholemeal sliced breads to select as the brand Ms M requested was nowhere to be found. I will never cease to admire those who are so familiar with their supermarket shelves.
A quick call to forewarn Ms M I was on my way - her physiotherapist was at home making sure she had all she needed and could get around okay with the frame and I met them both at the door to hand over this week's treasure. As always Ms M was so grateful for the help, and as a bonus the physio also commented that "you guys provide an amazing service by doing this" - it was, all things considered, a nice send off for the start of the weekend.
