Feeling the force of good
On Star Wars Day (aka May 4th), 5 GoodGymers from Ealing came together on their Saturday afternoon to fight hunger and food waste by teaming up with City Harvest to sort surplus food donations and get it out to those who need it most!
Chris battled his knee injury and stormy weather to cycle down to meet us, Sam came fresh from a 10km race in Stratford, Mike and Olivia came from Victoria Dock parkrun and Alex headed straight off to the gym when we were done. What an energetic bunch!
Between us we sorted over 50 boxes of surplus fresh food donations ready to go out on vans that day and over the rest of the bank holiday to local charities, refuges and shelters.
This was GoodGym's third visit to the facility and every time we’ve really loved being involved and seeing all this food go out to good causes.
