Manners maketh the scan
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.

Today I visited Ms L in my lunch hour to collect a few items for her from a local supermarket
After exchanging a few pleasantries (I hadn't seen Ms L for a couple of months, and she wondered whether I had won the lottery! 😂), I went through Ms L's list with her before heading to a nearby Sainsbury's.
There's no other way to describe the way I whizzed around the store except smug. Despite a work-enforced hiatus keeping me from daytime missions, I could still remember exactly where the spinach could be found, and which type of Koko milk Ms L preferred. This is the stuff that dreams are made of, and I was flying high.
Unfortunately, this made my subsequent humbling by the self service machine feel all more pointed (the machine simply could not understand the weight of an orange). Luckily, however, a nearby shop assistant kindly completed scanning my shop for me: It can truly be said that manners maketh the scan.
Items bought, I returned Ms L's change, receipt and shop to her (blessing her by showing her a picture of my cat in the process) before returning to work.
