Lop the shrubbery
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Croydon.
- Sunday, 24th of December 2017
On Christmas Eve, three runners went to Mrs B to give her some help in the garden.
We had signed up for a slot, and I was excited to find out that Mrs B (who Stephen and I helped in the summer) had asked for a bit more help. We showed up and got our orders; to tidy the patio and the flower beds which were quite leafy and mossy.
We enjoyed getting on with the tasks, and having a natter about what GoodGym Croydon and Brighton are up to, and about our plans for Christmas day. Juliet had a lovely chat with Mrs B about her childhood and her home. We also topped up her heater, which was nice to be able to do.
Once we were done, we wished Mrs B a merry Christmas and scampered off to get ready for a lovely Christmas day (with optional Parkrun!) !
