Long time, no weed
15 GoodGymers made their way 3.2km to help the Luxmore Garden in Lewisham.
- Monday, 25th of April 2022
- Led by Kim Parker
We gathered outside Glass Mill excited to return to Luxmore Gardens, we haven’t been as a group run since pre-pandemic and it was exciting to think of the difference we could make tonight being such a big group. Quick briefing and mention of some highlights including the upcoming rounders tournament. With perfect timing Marta arrived towards the end of her long run ready to get straight into the warm up - great work on getting your long run done post-work/pre-GG!!
It was mostly up hill to the hidden oasis that is Luxmore Gardens but that means it’s mostly down hill on the way back.
We arrived and we’re greeted by the Friends of Luxmore Gardens team who gave us instructions on what’s a weed and we began to tackle the flower beds. With such a big group it wasn’t long before they were looking in much better shape and the weeds were no longer taking over.
We’re heading back next Monday to continue our weeding and to begin mulching the flower beds - don’t forget to sign up! We also have a social post-group run at Mamma Dough.
