Six hardy GoodGymmers jumped at the chance to pick the streets of Bristol whilst also learning about the dark history of the slave trade.
Following a public slavery trail, armed with gloves, bags and litter pickers, we traced the steps of the Discover Britain history trail with Shreena reading the script at each stop. We were even stopped by someone asking if we were GoodGym as she wants to join.
We split into recyclers and non-recyclers and we’re able to stay 2m apart thanks to the expert reach of the pickers and by the Power of GoodGym (I have the Power).
Learning about Merchant Venturers, the Royal African Company, the banks and complicity of tea drinkers and sugar consumers.
A brilliant time getting back together, better informed and with the city that little bit tidier.
