Litter picking with a view (if it was in daylight)...
6 GoodGymers made their way 2.0km to help their local community in Derby.
- Tuesday, 25th of January 2022
- Led by Rachel Carthy
Ashley, Tracy, Tracey, Pete, Gwyn and Rachel went litter picking along the River Derwent on Tuesday evening.
Tracey was our official photographer and Ashley had his weights training backpack again. It was great to welcome back some of the members we hadn't seen since before Christmas and hear what everyone had been getting up to on our walk towards the city centre and train station.
We collected 8 full bin bags of mostly empty food packaging, lots of bottles and cans, facemasks and tissues. We also found a nappy and almost made our way to a complete outfit of: a pair of glasses, a jacket, a pair of shoes and a sock. All found separately strewn along the riverside.
We had thanks given to us by a passing run group and left the bags by the only bin we passed on our journey to be collected by the council.
