Eight great goodgym runners met at Mirth theatre in Walthamstow to run the 3km to litter pick around Leyton Marsh. We chatted inside the beautiful old theatre used by the local community. ( apparently the Beatles played here in the 60s) We welcomed Ciaran on her first run, numbered up and chatted about local restaurants worth a visit. We warmed up with a slow jog towards our task, down the local pedestrianised high street, lead by Ercole and back marked by Sajid. It was a very pleasant evening and particularly when we got to Leyton Marsh. The sun was starting to set and the sun glistened through the high grasses. We split up into pairs and started to litter pick the area near the canal. Well done to Ercole for the largest amount of litter gathered. (and on his own). Before heading back we did a light work out to some music (only the latest sounds) and some yogic breathing to finish off. We stopped on route to do some paired exercises and towards the end we did some intermittent speed training. (Picking up the pace between lamp posts to try and build speed and endurance) Thanks for welcoming me and for doing a little bit of good for your local community.
