Life on the hedge
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Saturday, 29th of September 2018
It was a return mission to Mr P this afternoon to cut back some hedges and carry on with the tasks started last week - a sense of deja vu for us both, as David had been hedge-cutting in the morning and Samia had done the initial mission to Mr P last weekend.
David decided to hedge his bets with cutting the hedge that had grown over the fence into Mr P’s garden, cutting it right back so that it was no longer encroaching the garden. Samia continued with her specialist subject of bindweed yanking, and then decided to also dapple in a spot of hedge/shrub cutting. We lopped, chopped and cut away, and slowly but shearly the fence became visible again. A neighbour even popped her head out the window to thank us for our help and said how it would enable Mr P to enjoy the garden again.
A good bit of chatter and banter meant that time flew by, so we got on the case of bagging up, took the mandatory “after selfie” and head off on our merry ways to bask in the last of the September sunshine.
