LIDLerally the extra mile
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Ealing.
- Sunday, 19th of December 2021
I signed up for two shopping missions today and, to my surprise, the first one went so smoothly that I gave Mrs U a call and asked whether I could come over a little bit earlier. She said yes! That saved me from loafing around in the park and opened an opportunity to do something extra for Mrs U. She still craved Lidl's legendary marble cake which I failed to deliver already two times before. The only way to capture the elusive cake was to take the quest to the big Lidl, an additional half-mile each way - so an extra mile in total. Aren't goodgymers supposed to be keen to go the extra mile? Yes, they are! That's why Mrs U finally got her marble cake for Christmas - and all the other items she recently dreamed about, including the Indian savoury cornflake mix and chestnuts she hasn't tasted for the last three years. We wished each other Merry Christmas and hoped we'll see each other in the New Year.
