Let Sleeping Ducks Lie
2 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Derby.
- Tuesday, 12th of April 2022
- Led by Derby runner
Tracey and Mandy took part in a volunteering session at Elvaston Castle. Mandy's volunteered there several times before, and it was Tracey's first time.
We were welcomed by Ben from the Elvaston Castle and Gardens Trust, and, along with a few other regular volunteers, set to work clearing the cottage garden courtyard area of brambles, moss and weeds.
We filled several bags with cuttings as well as adding a large amount to the compost heap, all without disturbing the mallard sitting on her eggs in the middle of the garden area.
