Knicker Picking
6 GoodGymers made their way 5.3km to help their local community in Lewisham.

The weather wasn't on our side in advance of our first group run since the pandemic and I was worried that I'd be standing outside Glass Mill on my own but Lewisham GoodGymmers did not disappoint! It was lovely to see some familiar faces, some sporting their new 100 t-shirts, and also lovely to see some new faces - hope you enjoyed your first group run!
We started with a quick warm up and then made our way over to The Waterlink Way, it was so wonderful to hear the chatting as we ran along through Ladywell Fields and reminded me why group runs are so important.
We were surprised to find that The Waterlink Way wasn't as full as litter as expected so we returned to the entrance area to clear the area that was overrun with litter but we did pick up a penguin (wrapper), a sock, a hat, a pair of knickers (always a GoodGym Lewisham find) and a lot of cans/bottle tops. After also returning 2 trolleys to Wickes that had been abandoned in the green space, it was time for us to head back to Ladywell Fields for our Olympic themed workout.
The Olympic themed workout included squats, fast feet and karate kicks - everyone did amazing!
Next week we are off to a GoodGym Lewisham favourite - Wildcat Wilderness. Don't forget to sign up!

This made me smile so much, it’s lovely to see group runs back, happy faces (on such a grotty day) and our area looking *good* again. Well done everyone and congratulations on your first group run as Area Activator Kim!
