"Keep your muddy shoes off the wet floor, Simon..."
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Arc Centre in Islington.
- Thursday, 11th of June 2020
- Led by Simon Fitzmaurice
Trainer Simon, Steve C, James and Becca met up at the Arc Centre to help with two tasks. A weekly deep clean of the Food Bank donation hall and kitchen, and offering a hand with filling up new planting beds with soil and compost for edible plants and vegetables.
Our team had not seen each other face-to-face since the start of lockdown, so it was great to catch up! We were even able to enjoy a coffee from the newly installed hot drinks stall at the Arc Centre, donating profits to the food bank.
James and Becca did a great job of clearing the main hall of crates of heavy donated foodstuffs and sweeping the site, whilst Trainer Simon prepared a mop bucket for later. Steve C got cracking with shoveling compost for the beds, with Paul, the volunteer gardener and carpentry expert, fixing up some fresh soil.
Excellent work every one. We will be back next week, so watch this space!
