'It never rains in South[ern] Norwood, it pours, man it pours…'
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Croydon.
- Tuesday, 27th of June 2017
The dizzy heights of last week’s 35 degrees were a distant memory when Maddy and I donned our raincoats for this evening’s mission. Mrs T’s garden needed a bit of TLC, so we set to work tidying up the area alongside the path into the garden.
It felt like we’d been transported back to winter as the rain continued to fall whilst we chopped and weeded away, and it made for some very damp gloves and difficulties sweeping and raking up the soggy cuttings.
Mrs T was very happy with our work (as was her very fluffy cat, Rosa, who we could not tempt outside to join us in the rain). After depositing our cuttings in the front garden and putting out the recycling boxes, we waved goodbye to Mrs T.
Maddy was heading to Croydon to join the rest of the GoodGym Croydon gang at BoxPark, whilst I walked the short distance home to rest my legs before Sunday’s Newham 10k. Hopefully the rain will stop before then!
