It was fantastic to see so many new faces at the group run last night, welcome and hope you enjoyed doing good in Lewisham. It was a good strength workout on top of the run there and back - hopefully everyone isn't aching too much this morning!
First up, we introduced ourselves and the walkers hit the road to the task and the rest of us tested out a new warm up of each person deciding on an exercise to complete for 30 seconds and then picking someone else to replace them in the circle, after initial hesitations it was a success and we were all sufficiently warmed up for the run up to Hither Green.
We reconvened at Hither Green embankment were Anne-Marie gave the in depth safety briefing to those who hadn't visited before and I set about organising the human chain to get the cardboard to the far end of the area that is going to be the wildflower meadow. Before long the rest of the group joined us and we speedily got the cardboard laid out. We're still slightly short of cardboard and that was a double delivery(!!) so Lewisham market will have to deliver another load.
Next up, it was time to get digging and shifting the soil. It was wonderful to see Marta work so hard to get Marta's Boulevard finished and also Julian's Junction was looking pretty good when we left, soon we'll have an entire Monopoly board going! Great work everyone, it's a tough workout but we got lots shifted and it's looking better every time we visit!
After our group photo, we returned the tools and made our way back down to Glass Mill for a cool down.
