Insane in the mem-Brent, insane in the rain! ☔

Seven awesome runners (more like sailors) fought their way through the rain to get fit and do good in Brent.
Amazing effort from all today and on a day when we sadly had no task after a couple of unforeseen issues with both lined up tasks. It was great to see so many of you and despite the fact that the heavens opened just as everyone was making their way to the Queensbury everyone was in great spirits and keen to make the best of the night.
A big GoodGym Brent welcome to Rachel who was at her first ever goodgym run and we said 'welcome back' to Ellen and Karishma.
Why does it always rain on me
After a quick conflab with everyone we decided that despite the rain we were going to go for a run, we gave it about ten minutes to let the heaviest of the rain pass and then we braced ourselves and headed out in to the cold and wet.
Despite having done the news (Brent xmas social after the last task of the year on 17th December, GoodGym Christmas Party on 1st December, Liz is our newest TaskForce member), the intros and generally been persuaded to not do a warm up... I took everyone outside and we did a much needed warm-up!
Rainy days and Mondays (thanks Tabs)
We then set off for a run, keeping up a decent pace and with constant shouts of "PUDDLE' merrily made our way around Brent. After about 1km we stopped to assess how everyone was doing - "MORE" - was the shout and so we re-routed and ended up doing a 4km run including a bit of a hill!
Once back to base we stretched off, remarked on the fact that we had been very lucky that the rain practically stopped for our run and then headed into the warmth of the Queensbury for some well earned drinks.
Thanks everyone for your good spirits and effort on a bit of a grim night. Sign up for next week when we'll be heading to Brent Mencap for some 'spring' cleaning...indoors!
Cheers, Pritesh
