A gardening session for Ruby at the Hounslow Jamia Mosque where the flowerbeds are desperately in need of weeding. Rather overwhelmed with the work needed, I concentrated on a small area by the entrance off the main work and worked to clear a portion of weeds including invasive ground elder. As I was working Ruby came up with the idea of creating a spiral design in front of the olive tree and I was able to use decorative rocks to create a strong structure, planting bedding plants between to add colour and impact.
One of the worshippers dropped off some geraniums and other plants which I was able to plant out along with a couple of vivid yellow-green shrubs, 6 lavender plugs, 18 chrysanthemum plugs, a begonia, yellow alpines, a stachys, 2 trays of gazanias , 2 trays of geraniums, 3 bacopa, a begonia and an unidentified white flower.
