In one fell hoop
2 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Ealing.
- Saturday, 22nd of August 2020
- Led by Liv Parker-Scott
This weekend FareShare & The Trussell Trust linked up with Tesco to run a Summer Food Collection in their stores.
When we've helped their collections in the past we’d go into store and promote the campaign and encourage shoppers to donate, however due to social distancing rules we couldn't do that this time around.
So instead a few of us took to social media to promote it instead and also headed to our local store to donate essential food too.
We donated:
- Spaghetti hoops (not everyone likes baked beans you know!)
- Baked beans
- Peanut butter
- Jam
- Soup
- & lots of other long life and tinned goods!
We really hope we gave the campaign even a tiny boost and that we can be involved in future campaigns in person once coronavirus and social distancing measures are no more.
If you want to get involved you can also donate food any other time, in store or directly to foodbanks - the list of donations points for Ealing Foodbank can be found here
