If you're so reclined
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lambeth.
- Thursday, 16th of May 2019
Here's what Mrs D of SE27 had to say about the mission:
'Please may I offer my appreciation and gratitude to your members Sophie and Lucy who helped me move a very heavy electric chair in my elderly mother’s flat yesterday evening. It wasn’t a particularly easy job to undertake given the amount of ‘stuff’ that my mother has accumulated over the years which had to be negotiated in order to relocate the chair but these two got on with it cheerfully and were really nice people, too.' - An email from Mrs D's son, well done both!!
Lucy and I met in West Norwood and were let in by Mrs M's son. Mrs M's recliner chair needed moving from the sitting room to her bedroom to make it easier for her on her return from hospital. The recliner was pretty bulky but after a few attempts we figured out how to get it through the door. Lucy and Mrs M's son did most of the heavy lifting, though I like to think my moral support was integral to the operation. Mrs M's son told us that his mother is going to receive therapy to help her move around the flat better, so hopefully we might be returning soon to move the chair back!

Amazing work, Sophie and Lucy. Glad that you were able to move that chair!
Also a great first mission, Lucy!
