If you pay peanut butter, you get bananas
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Ealing.
- Thursday, 2nd of April 2020
For this mission I grabbed my bike and climbed the hills of picturesque North Ealing. I hadn't quite anticipated the hilliness as I've never ventured down this part of the borough, so it was a surprising, invigorating and slightly sweaty morning. Ms. P handed me a straightforward list of groceries, some bananas, peanut butter, milk, salmon etc. I went down to the local Sainsburys, where I was welcomed by.. no queue! I swiftly went on the grab the essentials, managed to bag two packs of salmon and stay within the budget at the same time, which was quite exciting. Ms. P is a little hard of hearing, so I made sure to write down some instructions, such as washing items with some soap if they can be washed, throwing away the packaging and the bag after use, and washing hands! She seemed really pleased and while she asked if I'd be back, I had to admit not being able to make any promises. If she reaches out again I'll keep an eye out, but I did tell her it may be one of my fellow-volunteers that greets her next time.
