4 runners ran 3.5 k to a community garden, did lots of weeding and ran back

Not your typical spring day yesterday, fresher air and very moody skies. Potentially why we weren't at full capacity. Newham stalwart Carol made a fleeting appearance, unfortunately feeling under the weather, hats off for coming down and seeing if you felt any better - next week it is then! Nonetheless we had a small but hardened group, a 'fantastic four' a 'cracking cuatro'.

We had a longer run to the to the Urban Wilderness Jungle this week - making it there in just under 30mins. On the way there we discussed The Night of The 10k PBs (Rio Olympic trials). Everyone should sign up and come, it's on the GoodGym events list - check it out! GoodGym's very own Ax, is taking part - he'd love our support! Expect jumbo screens, thousands of fans, a lamborghini, live music, ex world record holders and the best runners in the country battling it out for Olympic qualification.

Once we got to our task, we were informed they ran out of bricks for the wheelchair access path. Not a problem as we quickly given a new job, some good old weeding. The first time Tim and myself had seen the garden in the light - looked stunning. Really got a grasp of the size of the plot and the amount of work they do. Doesn't take long to realise how cherished it is by the locals, as they walk past there are offers to help. As they know that if everyone does their bit, they can maintain this lovely little spot.

We spent the better part of 25 mins weeding, using the hoe to good effect - but being very cautious of all the surrounding plants - many of which we could not distinguish between plants and weeds. There were some uncertain faces . All in all - we did a stellar job. Cleared a nice little patch in no time at all.

Next week we do pizza and beer - any suggestions for the venue are much welcomed.

Catch you then

I'd be more than happy to go to Pizza Express, for the pizza and beer.

I am also happy to go to a different place, if there is a preference.
