I've an Ivy Invader
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Sunday, 19th of August 2018
Here's what Mr G of SW11 had to say about the mission:
Mr A called to let us know that the volunteers did a really great job and that their hard work was very 'commendable.' He wants to pass on a massive thanks to the runners!
Two runners cleared a mammoth amount of ivy from Mr G's house and garden, despite doing a pretty pretty rubbish job taking photos.
The ivy in Mr G's garden had taken over the back wall of his house, growing up the walls, into the brickwork and even into the house through the gaps between the window panes. Using garden shears, a stanley knife and their own bare hands, Chris and Catriona managed to clear the back wall of the house and the pathway around the perimeter.
With much more light now coming in through the ivy-free windows, hopefully life will be a little brighter for Mr G.
