I promised you a rose garden.
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lewisham.

Here's what Ms J of SE14 had to say about the mission:
It's hard for me to get to the branches and prune the bushes. I try and do bits and pieces myself but in the hot weather it's hard for me to do. It’s such a relief that the runners were able to come and help me. Now it’s easier to get outside in the garden.
With the sun out in full force, yes even at 9am 2 runners met up on hilly fields, 1 finishing up volunteering at parkrun and the other having run it.
We definitely were not going to let the sun get the better of us. So we had a lovely stroll to where out mission was to be, once there we introduced ourselves before getting to work on the overgrown garden.
Although the space was small you could see just how beautiful it was before we even got out there. Mrs J sat with us telling us all about her life while we trimmed back the amazing rose bush and other flowering bushes. After some final weeding and lots of gulps of water throughout the task in the relentless heat all 3 of us stood back to admire the now well exposed path which Mrs J appeared to be very pleased with.
We downed tools and said our goodbyes and disappeared off home in time to watch the England football match.
