Hydrangea-rous Business!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Newham.

Here's what Mrs N of E6 had to say about the mission:
Mrs W is so happy with the help in her garden. It has made such a difference. She wanted to pass on a huge thank you to both of the runners for their hard work, she was very impressed!
A lovely but prickly mission in the beautiful blue skies of Newham this morning. Mrs N has clearly put lots of time and effort into her garden over the years, with a particularly impressive climbing rose bush and a variety of succulents (thanks to Dharmesh for the terminology on the latter, I had no idea that's what they're called!) Our task was to give the garden a bit of a tidy and a prune to help Mrs N keep on top of it over the coming months.
The main task was to get the posts supporting the rose bush a bit sturdier, then cut back and train the shoots. Working with roses is a thorny business, but certainly worth it once they bloom in the summer. We also moved some pots around so the plants were better protected from the elements, cleared up some leaves and (my favourite thing...) got rid of some ivy! A couple of bags of weeds and cuttings later, hopefully the garden is set to come into it's own once the weather warms up and Mrs N can enjoy it.
Great to meet you Dharmesh, thanks for the gardening wisdom and the report title! Hope to see you again in Newham or Redbridge ☺
