How much wood would a good gym chop if a good gym could chop wood?
16 GoodGymers made their way 5.0km to help their local community in Colchester.

A very dark but very warm evening greeted Colchester's Goodgym gang last night. We welcomed new Goodgymer, Hannah, who already has her red t-shirt, and Belinda and Beth, the Worthing Wombles to our merry crew.
Tav lead the way upto Emmaus, via the High Street Elephants, of course, and we met Jacko there.
The task was to sort out a shed load of wood, literally. Well, actually I think it was a garage, but it was a lot of wood. We had to break down beds and various pine furniture that could be broken up into firewood. Jacko got out a circular saw, but we we're allowed to use that.
It was quite scary to see the gusto with which Fay and Michelle threw chairs to the ground to smash them up!
And Tav and I were quite excited to see the sign for the Wig and Pen, which I believe is now called The Duchess - I remember many a Friday night of partying underage there!
Everyone seemed to enjoy the task as we did as much we could really do with breaking wood down in less than 20 minutes. Since there was only one circular saw, it was decided to put all the wood back into the garage using 2 human chains. Whilst we did that, Tav lead a group of 6 runners to deliver some more Colchester Hospitals Charity Santa Run Fliers around the town centre.
We finished putting everything back in the garage, and Jacko told us about his 82 mile treck along the Essex Way - made us all feel a bit inadequate with our 2 mile run that night. Beth tried to convince me that if we added all our miles up we may get closer - yes, 32 miles, still isn't 82, is it?
On the way back we did a running drill to increase our leg turnover called running on water.
A great night was had by all and we're looking forward to our Starter Session on Saturday.
After a long time coming, it seems that we also have a first Coach Run for Steve, and a Mission Run this weekend to look forward to.
Thanks to Emily for the pun, although I believe technically it was a joint effort between Emily and Fay
