We were back for the second week helping Cultivate London maintain their industrial trail, a beautiful set of flower beds in Acton's business district which aim to increase biodiversity, create a pleasant place for local people and support wildlife and nature in the area.
So after a 2km run down to their nursery site we met Romina and walked over to the site to help with various jobs which included watering, weeding, and, excitingly, using concrete to put in the new signs. As Jon said, we are always learning new skills at GoodGym!
After connecting the longest hose known to mankind, we got started prepping the area and picking out all those nasty old cig butts which take decades to degrade and often end up in our waterways. Luis and Jon quickly became total pros at laying the concrete and getting the signs up, before handing the job over to Chris and Emily.
Before long the place was looking even better, and ready to welcome local workers and residents. Great job everyone! Next week instead of a group run we have a community mission at Turnham Green, so green fingers at the ready!
