Hey all. Thanks to everybody who ran last night. Here is the run report from GG regular but Tower Hamlets newbie Tom Benson. (Now he got 99 good deeds!!!)

Last night I had the pleasure of experiencing my first Tower Hamlets goodgym session. As Tom wasn’t feeling too hot Will stepped in at the last minute to run the task. So after the introductions and head counts, 11 of us whizzed over to meet Margret at Hollybush estate to see what task awaited us. Initially due to some issue with scaffolding and the small possibility of it falling on our head (it’s health and safety gone mad I tell you) our original task of planting bulbs was postponed and replaced with another green finger task. The mission we were faced with was sorting out 9 or so raised beds that had seen better days that needed some TLC. So armed with trowels we set about getting rid of those pesky weeds and dead plants and replacing them with lovely new flowers, whilst keeping the shrubbery the residence had recently planted in place.

So after 20/25 minutes it was mission complete with the raised beds looking a lot smarter, however instead of admiring our handy work Margret had other plans so with our last 15 minutes we headed over to the estates community allotment and play area to do some last minute litter picking.

Once we de-gloved and packed everything away Becky led the way to a nearby park for some interval training. After a quick jog around the 400m route, Will got us to run at our 5KM pace for one minute and then join together for a minutes rest then going again 4 times before moving onto 45 seconds intervals and then finally 30 seconds. Safe to say by the end of the session the cold I was feeling earlier was well and truly gone.

Thanks Will for running a great evening and it was lovely to meet you all, I had a great time.
