What a lovely evening for getting fit and doing good!
With regular Worthing run leader Julia away in Australia, it was my pleasure to take the short trip over to Worthing to cover.
We welcomed Christina for her first Goodgym experience as well as her first run for some time! I have to say that achieving 5k straight off the bat is pretty impressive so well done Christina, I hope we’ll see you back for more!
We were full of chat about the Sunday’s Brighton marathon and the amazing achievement of Beth who ran a cracking 3.55 on her very first marathon. Proof that doing lots of Goodgym (does anyone do more??!!) does indeed get you fit whilst doing good. Well done Beth, feel proud, for ever!!!!
Tonight’s task was Byron Road hostel for the homeless , part of the Worthing Churches Homeless project. We got stuck in with some weeding, hoeing, sweeping and generally tidying up the front and back gardens. As always with lots of hands on deck loads got done in a short amount of time, leaving time for a longer route back to base.
We incorporated some bursts of speed once we hit the seafront and had a quick lesson on running form, working on getting a nice cycling action with the legs. There was just time for a quick play in the outdoor gym before a stretch and farewells.
Thanks for having me Worthing and making me feel so welcome. You are of course always welcome to pop along the coast for a Tuesday Brighton session! Hope to see you all soon, Tara
(more pics to follow, upload has been painfully slow and I gotta go! )
