Hit me with your mission trick!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Friday, 30th of August 2019
This lunchtime, Camden coffee wasn't the only Camden-esque thing in Wandsworth, as I tourist-ed there for a mission with Ana. Although I've met Ana socially through mutual friends (Friends! Social engagements! #humblebrag 😎), this was my first official GoodGym thing with her and I was looking forward to it! 😄
Our task today was to help Ms M. Ms M was scheduled to have a new hospital bed delivered today so that she could live at home more comfortably. To make space for this, GoodGym were asked to remove a couple of single beds and a mattress from her bedroom to a communal bins area outside her block of flats.
Arriving a couple of minutes early, I bumped into Ms M's daughter (she identified me from my incredibly subtle, yet wholly on-brand, t-shirt), and we spent a happy few minutes chatting before Ana raced up the street.
Entering the flat, we made a brief hello to Ms M before getting to work! Luckily, everything we had to move was incredibly light, and didn't require any tools to dismantle. [This last bit was also unlucky, as I haven't gotten to use my fancy screwdriver in a while, and I want more people to admire it in action 😅. I did, however, get to show Ana my mission trick of leaving my rucksack in the doorway to stop us from being locked out. She was duly impressed by this trick, despite the fact that it resulted from being accidentally locked out on a previous mission last year 😎👍]
The lack of complexity with the move meant that we were finished mere minutes after starting, and had plenty of time to chat with Ms M about wildlife reservations and conservation efforts before we went (Ana had the best knowledge about how a rhino is the animal you want to be most scared of on a safari). Our conversation about conservation was only interrupted by a knock on the door as the bed arrived, so it was just as well that it was a quick job!
It was fun (albeit brief) working with you, Ana. Hope you enjoy the weekend! 😄

Lovely report as always Liz and great mission both! I'm sure Ms M and her daughter were both very grateful.
Thanks, guys! :)
And @Rob - yes! I think this will be the most I've ever done in a month 😎😄👍
