Helmets to Pelmets
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Kingston upon Thames.
- Saturday, 14th of March 2020
JP & Lucy were on a double good deeds day - we had ‘hooked up’ earlier to help out at the Ham Lands community mission before getting on our bikes and cycling down in tandem to the Thames Path to Surbiton to meet Mr S and his wife.
The mission at hand was to take down the old curtains and replace them with a fresh new pair. After a thorough hand wash, JP set to work talking down the pelmet and unhooking the old curtains, while Lucy put hooks into the new curtains and prepared them for hanging. A team effort ensued and quick as a flash the new set were up. In fact, Mr S was so pleased he even got JP to help hook up another curtain which was falling down!
Job done and a big thank you from Mr S and his wife meant it was curtains for us, and off we went to go our separate ways and get home before the rain!
