Hedge over heals in laurel
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Sheffield.
- Sunday, 2nd of September 2018
Here's what Mrs J of S17 had to say about the mission:
Mrs J's daughter-in-law asked us to pass on 'a million thanks' to the Goodgymers who helped in her mother-in-law's garden and said that they did a great job!
A sunny September morning in Sheffield; 3 GoodGym volunteers helped Mrs J with her over grown hedges and wild weeds.
Kim and Tom where joined by Grace, who had travelled over all the way from Barnsley to come help an elderly person!
We quickly armed ourselves with a troul, shears and garden brush. Tom took to the over grown wisteria that was preventing the garage door opening and covering the house number, while Kim and Grace tackled the bushy shrubs and weeds. Getting a bit carried away and not knowing her own strength, Kim grappled with a stubborn shrub. Giving it a big heave, the wimpering weed gave up without warning - sending Kim backwards through the hedge and landing on her bottom. Before Tom and Grace rushed to check on their supprised sidekick; one pointed and laughed the other took a photo - as true friends do! ( No bums were harmed in the making of this mission) .
