Well done to Mark - 50 good deeds reached!!!
Teaching Woking GG Members about potatoes
Last night we headed to the GoodGym allotment patch. Its been a good few weeks since we were there last and it was great to see the potatoes and peas had a growth spurt. Although so did the weeds!!! We also welcomed Abbie and Martin along last night - we hope to see you again soon!!
So we had the task of getting rid of the weeds and recovering the potatoes. This is called hilling up potatoes and this forces new tubers and new potatoes to grow under the new mound of soil. So don't worry it won't crush them!
We also have many strawberry plants which after some love are doing well. We pick our first crop of rhubarb too! Not sure what happened to the radishes?! I think a James may have gotten to close to them and slightly buried them under the ground!!! All of Anne's hard work - Ruined ;)
Next time we will be back to plant some squash, courgettes and maybe even a pumpkin - remember if you would like to grow anything, there is plenty of room!
Next week
I am just waiting for confirmation from Brockhill but that is the plan!
