Six GG Yorkies met up for a bit of Thursday night path building
The path had already been started by another group of volunteers, so we just needed to make it a bit longer. We started by opting to lift wheelbarrows full of tools down some steps (to work on our upper body strength of course), rather than run the long way round and work on our aerobic fitness.
Our first job was to dig out some turf to widen the existing/ almost-non-existent path. This would make way for the hardcore that we would then transport by wheelbarrow from one of the park's many entrances. After 90 minutes of grafting (some of it one-handed for me while I talked to my mum on the phone!) , we managed to add a good few metres of length to the path.
We considered taking the tools back to the van the long way, but the "upper body workout" option won again.
Christine was officially there as photographer, so when she wasn't shovelling, she was snapping away. Leanne also contributed to the photo record.
