6 GoodGymers made their way to help the parkrun - Woking junior parkrun in Woking.
- Sunday, 12th of June 2022
- Led by James McCloud
This morningβs junior park run was a day of celebration as it is 5 years since the first junior park run way back in 2017β¦ππΎββοΈππΎββοΈ
Since that time there have been over 173 events with 2055 juniors having taken part.
There have been 500 different people who have volunteered and there has been 3754 personal bests. π
Course record which was set a few weeks ago is 6:34 (An incredible time)
Getting back to this morning the venue looked amazing there was bunting and banners with balloons πand plenty of cakes for everyone.
James, Wayne, Anne, Victoria, Rich, and Adam carried out various duties most were marshals around the 2k course cheering and encouraging everyone. A total of 129 kids took part with the quickest time being 7:49. All runners did fantastically well and all enjoyed a lovely cake at the finish line.
π§This morning we also had a dinasour tail walker and also on the course was a friendly monkey and a caveman which was very interesting to see. βοΈ
Victoria & Rich and their little boy Gabriel are off to Canada for 9 weeks, we wish them all the best and hope they have a wonderful time, and look forward to hearing all about it. π¨π¦π
Next Wednesday we are at the Knaphill Community Fridge carrying out some painting.
Thursday we are back at the park assisting No sweat run club with the couch to 5k program. ππΎββοΈ
