Green Cycles Go!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help the St Mary's Church, Crouch End in Islington.
- Saturday, 12th of February 2022
- Led by Simon Fitzmaurice
On Saturday morning (following a visit to Finsbury parkrun) Simon and David arranged to meet up at St Mary's Church in Crouch End for a cycle related mission.
The food bank cargo bike (offered by Islington council) needed to be delivered to London Green Cycles repair shop near Regent's Park. Although this heavy bike can be pedalled, the electrical assist was not functional, so the Church were looking for some experienced cycling volunteers to drop the bike off.
Simon took on the pedaling duties for the cargo bike, while David followed on his own bike to help with navigation and safe signalling for fellow road users. We journeyed down Holloway Road, and conquered the hill up Camden Road with no major issues at all. David suggested some nice parallel back streets near the Regent's Park area, which were nice and quiet, and away from the traffic.
6 miles on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning- a perfect way to start the weekend!
