Got milk? Cereal visits to Kentish Town supermarkets
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Thursday, 2nd of April 2020
After a nice leisurely run from Swiss Cottage to Kentish Town, the first stop on this mission was a local pharmacy where I picked up a prescription for Ms I. A heads up if you're doing this - sometimes they ask for the person's date of birth - luckily for me this was just a phone call away. Next on the list was a bit of shopping, with a list confirmed by the lovely, friendly Ms I over the phone. "Any preference of supermarket?" I asked her. "You choose!" she replied. And that was the beginning of an epic adventure ... Kind of. I went to the Co-op, and they had most things, apart from cereal and long-life milk. Looking at the queue for Iceland and Lidl and deciding I didn't fancy it, I moved on to Sainsbury's local. Success in the cereal aisle - but still no long-life milk! Is UHT the holy grail of lockdown essentials? Discuss. Anyway, I got the milk from Tesco Express, which was only down the road. Goods delivered, I made my way home for lunch with a sense of achievement. I got my pesto pasta, and Ms I got her breakfast of champions.
