GoodGym sunshine at the (nearly) spotless Mind
11 GoodGymers made their way to help the BLG Mind in Greenwich.

Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham Mind are an organisation providing Mental Health and Dementia support from their centres in the three boroughs and on a sunny Wednesday night they needed GoodGym to help with decorating the Greenwich branch.
The group met at the Old Naval College and after a quick warm up, and after the braver members had examined JC’s finger injury, we set off up the hill through Greenwich and Westcombe parks to the centre. We were met by Nathan who had a number of different tasks for us to perform: a first group were assigned the task preparing a wall for painting; a second group were set the task of painting a prepared wall and a third group got to remove some ugly cladding for a copper pipe. The pipe was soon unclad and an expanded third group moved to tackle the weeds in the centre’s garden.
40 minutes later one wall was painted, another was ready for painting, the pipe was clear of cladding and the garden was a lot tidier. All that remained was for us to say goodnight to Nathan and make our way back to the Naval College via some pretty steep hills.
This was a really rewarding task, and there seem to be a number of activities that we could still help out with, so it would be really nice to get back there soon!
