GoodGym it’s cold outside...
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Kingston upon Thames.
- Wednesday, 5th of December 2018
We were welcomed in by Mrs K who needed help setting the clock on her boiler. It hadn't been working since her husband sadly passed away over a year ago and since then Mrs K has struggled to stay warm in her home, often layering up with blankets in her wheelchair and on her bed.
Armed with our respective (relatively limited) boiler knowledge and with the back up of our good friend Google, we cautiously lifted the flap on the heating and both let out a sigh of relief when we noticed the instructions!!
Thankfully there was no need to get hot and bothered and within a few minutes we were done having set the clock as well as the timers for the hot water and heating! We even had time to make a cup of coffee for Mrs K to enjoy in her now nice warm lounge!
Congratulations Dave on your first GoodGym mission. You were a star! Without you this would not have been possible today!
