Good Gym Sheffield’s first mission for Food Works
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Sheffield.
- Saturday, 16th of January 2021
Here's what Mr G of S2 had to say about the mission:
From the referrer: "Thanks Andrew! We look forward to working with you in the future!"
Today’s mission started with an unusual warm up - 10 minutes of clearing snow & ice off my car (there was no way I was running on the icy pavements!) - before heading off to Food Works to collect a food package for a volunteer who was staying at home because of illness.
Food Works describe themselves as Sheffield’s leading force in the fight against food waste - you can find out about the amazing work they do and how you can help them at: foodworks.org
At their Wybourn site I got to meet Emma & Ash and to see Food Works in action. And then it was off to drop of off my food package to a very grateful Mr G. Amazing how the smile on someone’s face always makes a mission seem so worthwhile.
This mission was set up by our very own super-organiser Linda and hopefully this will be the start of a long relationship between GG Sheffield and Food Works.
