Good for muffin

Today I helped out once again at the Newington Green Food Hub, a food donation and delivery centre for families local to Newington Green.
After last week's cinnamon buns and carrot cake, this week my baking contribution for our local carers was zucchini, banana and chocolate chip muffins. I hope the carers like those, I am a bit of a novice in the art of muffin making.
I then helped out with packing the food packages that would be delivered later in the day. It felt a bit like my first day at work. A fellow volunteer helpfully showed me the ropes and then was very patient with my many questions that followed. I learnt a lot. About nappy sizes, for instance.
Some families had specific requests so, in addition to the standard items we would select from for each package, we tried wherever possible to accommodate those, making lists for extra purchases to make with donated funds where we couldn't make do with what we had at hand.
I then helped move all the bags downstairs, sorting them into postcodes ready for the volunteer delivery team to pick up and deliver to our neighbours.
