Going WILD in Philadelphia
8 GoodGymers made their way 6.8km to help the Wilder Neighbourhoods in Sheffield.
- Monday, 17th of April 2023
- Led by Tom Mutton
A new task for us tonight to Philadelphia gardens to help Kerry from Wilder Neighbourhoods with the upkeep of the area, which includes the 'UK's worst skatepark'.
After hearing a bit about the project we got straight to the tasks which included:
- Litter Picking
- Breaking branches down into long pieces ready for weaving
- Weeding
- Cutting back horse chesnut trees
Some of us were so strong and into the task we even managed to brake a spade!
That horse chestnut broke the spade, not me - honest!!! - Celine.
With a longer distance tonight we didn't have too long, but we still made an impact and it was appreciated. Hopefully Kerry will have us back again in the future to continue the work at Philly gardens and provide some Philadelphia freedom for the kids from Philly...
Until next time, happy running :)
