After a less than promising afternoon, the skies cleared and it was sunny and bright for our lightly Jubilee themed group run.
We kicked off the evening with a warm up and a Queenly-themed quiz question, before heading off to Cultivate London, a charity which repurposes land in West London for good.
After a shortish run down to the nursery site, we met with Michael who gave us a choice of two jobs - one that worked the muscles, and one that tested the brain. While Harvey, Alanna (sporting her fabulous new 50 tshirt) and Chris got stuck in breaking up pallets, the rest of the team tackled the epic pot challenge. The idea was to sort the pots by size, but with several thousand of them to go through, and of every shape and size under the sun, it was quite the Crystal Maze style task (along with sound track)! The pallet smashing, meanwhile, looked and sounded very effective.
After finishing up at Cultivate we headed back to Turnham Green where we divided up into two teams and took on the Jubilee challenge. While both teams frog jumped, power squatted, and sprinted valiantly, there could only be one winner (and one first in line to the throne) - check out the photos for the result!
It's a bonus weekend of missions - can you spare a hand setting up a community event, helping at Heron Way allotments or supporting junior parkrun?
Whatever you're doing with your long weekend, have a wonderful time, and, as always, run happy!
