5 GoodGymers made their way 4km to help the Wexham Neighbourhood Watch in Slough.

This was our first task helping out at the Wexham Allotments. Mabu, a GoodGym member and all round community champion asked if we could help cut back the vegetation in the stream - lake we would say no to Mabu!
So on the hottest Saturday this year! 4 of us plus Mabu met at the allotments to see what we needed to tidey up!
Suffice to say it looked like a mammoth task at first sight. The stream was completely overgrown and we did ponder how we would even get into it to make a start!
But Mabu showed us how shallow it was and within seconds Helen and Sut were cooling off (ankle deep in something sludgey).
Agnie started bankside but she too was also dying to take a dip in!
It was also a lot easier to pull out the plants as they had not bedded in. But buoy were some a bit tricky! I did have visions of a pull and backwards fall!
One hour in and even we couldn’t believe how much we had cleared. Just fish we had more time. Mabu and his fellow allotment colleagues carried on clearing out the other end of the stream.
Great task for a Saturday morning.
